Expansion Valve (TXV) w/Bleed Port

This TXV (expansion valve) with bleed port is designed for use with Rheem Ruud heat pumps. The TXV control the gas pressure relative to the incoming and outgoing refrigerant pressures. This process reduces the pressure in the system to correct for an overheating condition, such as an air conditioner system that does not have enough air flow to cool properly, or a heater system that is not able to remove heat from the building properly.

When you need to replace a defective TXV or you simply want to replace the original, this kit is an ideal option. It includes an expansion valve, mounting gasket and bleed port. A TXV is a two-stage refrigerant metering device installed in conjunction with equipment capable of receiving liquid refrigerant in its normal state, such as an air conditioner. Attached to the compressor discharge outlet, the TXV meters refrigerant flow to meet system requirements

The Expansion Valve, or TXV, is a true refrigerant expansion valve designed to steady the flow of refrigerant in heating and cooling systems. This Ruud 611052 1T expansion valve is used for Rheem packaged rooftop units, and features copper tube construction, bleeder port and pressure switch mounting.

The Expansion Valve w/ Bleed Port is used in Rheem and Ruud brand air conditioners and heat pumps with a gas or electric heater. The valve will be installed in a horizontal position at the end of the outdoor coil.

In the event that your outdoor AC unit has pressure relief, you'll need to replace the expansion valve (TXV) to return it to a normal operating condition. Before removing your existing TXV, you must perform a bleed to evacuate any remaining refrigerant from the unit without risk of personal injury or property damage.
