The 99951 is a surface ignitor with 11" leads. The surface ignitor has flexible 11" leads to permit easier installation, and eliminates the need for wire nuts.

An Emerson hot surface ignitor (HSI), used in conjunction with any standard gas valve, provides quicker, more complete gas ignition than a conventional spark ignitor, resulting in more consistent temperature control.

The Silicon Carbide Hot Surface Ignitor is the replacement part for an electric furnace, and it is designed to be mounted on a control box. It is the heating element that is used to light pilot lamps in gas burners, and it consists of a silicon carbide wire that heats up when electricity flows through it. This ignitor can withstand heat up to 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit.
