This unit features 2-1/2" backset latchbolt, bolt throw distance of 3-3/8", adjustable latch tangs, fixed cam, aluminum thumbturn and decora style handleset.

The Baldwin 8550 is a mortise deadlock designed to be used with either a rim, core or mortise cylinder. The Baldwin 8450 is designed for use with a double cylinder. This lock features a pivot back-action latch that allows the door to be fully closed even with the deadbolt engaged. The lock has an adjustable time control to limit the time the deadbolt may be locked before it automatically unlocks. It is lockable from both sides allowing you to exit the room in which it is installed and lock the door from the exterior.
