The kit sensor flame rod is an inline flame rod with two coils and two gas inlet tubes for use with gas water heaters.

The A. O. Smith Kit Sensor Flame Rod will install in place of the existing flame rod to provide a flame failure protection. The flame rod helps prevent gas leaking if the pilot light goes out and will automatically relight the flame if it goes out by sensing the pilot light and re-igniting it if it goes out.

A.O. Smith has another innovation to help prevent potential problems with aftermarket or older model heating products. The new Flame Rod Kit fits 194520 80 Series gas furnace models, and replaces the existing thermostatic control's flame sensor rod. This kit comes complete with the flame sensor rod, a safety limit switch, wire connectors, and a mounting wrench. It is designed for quick and easy installation by any qualified HVAC service person.

To ensure proper operation, replace the FLAME ROD whenever you replace your gas valve to keep your gas line operable. These flame rod kits contain all necessary components for A.O. Smith® gas valves. Parts included are 2 flame rods, 1 burner cup, and 2 metal O-rings to ensure a smooth and dependable operation.
