NOTE: Very High operating temperature is available only if the silicon cable is properly embedded in thermal epoxy. The temperature of the module will increase by 12 degrees for every 1000 feet of cable length. Johnson Controls 8915 652C Series PTC sensors are encapsulated to protect the internal components from the high temperatures encountered with high temperature applications.

The 8915 PTC sensing element is sealed within a ceramic housing. This provides an effective method for surface temperature measurement. The sensing element has a temperature range of 40 to 248 degrees Fahrenheit (4-20 degrees Celsius). An infinite resistance is maintained at ambient temperature.

This PTC sensor is compatible with Johnson Controls' Zoneline HVAC product line, including the 8800 Series Total Energy Management System. The sensors have a minimum operating temperature of -40°F and a protection circuit limit of 248°F, designed for temperatures below 70°F. For applications between 40°F and 70°F degrees, the part number 8916 may be preferable.
