The Flapper Chain with Float is designed for use with the American Standard SmartChoice toilet or an American Standard Aquaforce toilet. It features a hard plastic flapper that meets all states and local codes for 2 inch flappers. And, it is designed to fit older 1.6 GPF toilets that have vertical tank rims.

The Flapper Chain With Float by American Standard is made of brass. It's designed for flush valves.

Flapper chains are useful for a variety of applications, but they're most commonly used in toilets. They operate on the principle of water pressure, and they run over a series of flaps that eventually raise the cover of the toilet tank. Some flappers contain floats, while others rely on the user to check water level and stop flapper operation at the right time. This product has no rating.

These toilet flappers act as a seal that creates a watertight fit between the tank and the bowl. The flapper is operated with a float attached to the end of it that opens and closes the seal. Excess water from the tank is pulled into the bowl by gravity through an internal trapway. When the toilet is flushed, water from the tank pushes the trapped air above it and out of the pipe. The chain pictured above has a float ball connected to the bottom of it, facing into the tank. In this picture, you can also see a leak coming from where it attaches to the toilet. After many years
