Fan & Motor Vent Assembly

The Draft Inducer Fan & Motor Vent Assembly is a replacement part for the RHEEM GSH Series (Classic, Premium and Ultra) gas water heaters. This small fan and motor assembly draws cool air from outside the house through the vent pipe and circulates it to the gas burner, which prevents pilot light flame-outs and improves combustion efficiency. The draft inducer is located on the top of the flue collar, above the gas burner.

The fan and motor vent assembly (combination fan/motor) is a combination of the fan blades and the motor. It is used to bring air from the outside to create suction when drawing conditions are not otherwise right for draft inducer operation.

The Rheem Draft Inducer Blower with Fan and Motor is designed to vent combustion gases away from the furnace and combustion appliance by creating a low pressure in front of the furnace blower to draw out the dangerous gases. This product is UL/CSA listed for use on gas, oil and electric furnaces and hot air furnaces.

Rheem's insulated draft inducer blower motor/fan assembly is designed to work with your Rheem gas water heater, furnace or gas appliances. The grille and motor plate are made of galvanized steel. The galvanized steel flanges are bendable, so that the unit can be mounted within restricted vent openings, and reinforced with flexible pads.

Four-blade steel fan blades. Measures 11/32 in. thick, 1 5/8 in. wide, and 4-1/2 in. in diameter. Mounting bolt allows for a 3/16 in. adjustment up or down from the mounting surface to allow for proper alignment of the four blade fan assembly with the condensate that must be drawn outside of the furnace draft inducer. Fits Rheem 140-000-002, Rheem 140-000-005 and other furnaces having a 115 V motor incased in an aluminum housing identified by a manufacturer part number 140-000 series

The RHEEM draft inducer blower is designed for modern, high efficiency gas furnaces and heat pump systems with multiple stage burners. The draft inducer fan motor is an integral part of the combustion system and works to pull combustion air into the furnace or heat pump. It pulls fresh air from outside or out of the attic through a vent duct to the furnace or heat pump. The fan motor consists of a housing, fan blades & hub and vane/paddle assembly.

Assembled in the U.S.A. from components of foreign and domestic manufacture, with various components subject to EC, UL, or cULus approval and labeled. for use in venting the exhaust air from Rheem water heaters with forced draft models designed for gas or oil fired appliances.
