This 1/2 HP variable speed sheave is designed to enhance performance, while being able to handle the most demanding applications. Capable of cutting up to a 10" diameter log, this variable speed sheave can be operated in either forward or reverse. It features fully adjustable feed tables that allow the log to be fed true and consistently every time. The "VARIABLE" designation on the model number serves as a reminder to install this sheave in an approved sheave well.

If the load (e.g., weight) causes the spring constant to increase, the variable sheave will move away from the principal pulley, and if it decreases, the variable sheave will move toward the principal pulley. This sheave is designed with a strong galvanized steel frame and the ability to rotate 360 degrees when attached to a fixed point to make installation easier and faster.
