"2 GROOVE SHEAVE 8.35""OD"
This 2 groove sheave is used on a winch to reduce draft when pulling in the cable. Two round grooves are machined on the underside of yoke to facilitate wire rope passage. Used with a Q1 bushing on A or B belt pulley system, it is for use with 1/8"" to 7/32"" diameter ropes.
A two groove sheave has 2 grooves, A and B. The belt rides on the A groove and the B groove act as a backup in case of a belt failure. Cast iron sheaves are recommended for use between 50 and 500 hp motors. Taper sheaves should be used in conjunction with Q1 or Q2 bushings unless the motor has a tapered spindle.
Our cast iron split taper sheaves are suitable for use on A/B belts. Used with Flat Belts, to transmit power from driveshaft to machine element, they are specified by the number of grooves in the sheave (usually 2 or 3), belt drive ratio and bore size.
Browning sheaves are precision machined from cast iron, hardened and plated for durability. UL listed as a Class 300, 600 and 900 hoist sheave. Our patented Sure-Grip™ bushing positively locks in the belt to eliminate belt slip and misalignment. Large 8 1/2""(216 mm) or 9 1/4""(235 mm) O.D. available."
Browning Split Taper Sheaves handle application used for general purpose belt drive. The bushed sheave has an internal bushing that fits the A or B belts and are adjustable to fit the belt taper. Includes a snap on cover. These cast iron Browning sheaves with aluminum face plates are 8-3/4" in outside diameter, 2-3/8" in inside diameter, 5/8" ID and 13/16" wide, with a tolerance of +5/-0.030". They use a Q1 bushing and a single groove to accommodate belts up to 1/2 in outside

A split taper sheave is used on boats, belt conveyors, and other heavy-duty applications that move products over longer distances. Split taper sheaves use bushing A (Q1) or bushing B (Q2). The 2 groove sheave is useful for mounting a mainsheet block or a kicker block on boats, as it allows the rope to be routed through the sheave multiple times.
