WHAT IS DUNGEON WORLD? Dungeon World is a tabletop role-playing game. Like all role-playing games, it's mostly about talking with friends. Unlike most role-playing games, the rules are light and easy.  There's no fussing with dice or searching through piles of books and papers.  Everything you need to play is in this one book: how the game works, how to create characters, what sorts of things characters can do, and three full-length adventures

Dungeon World is a fantasy RPG about a band of adventurers on a perilous quest. It’s designed to be played without preparation, and powered by your imagination. You’ll explore a land of magic and danger in the roles of adventuring heroes struggling against monsters, treachery, and the unknown. You’ll make decisions based on your character’s motivations and moral code.

Dungeon World is a tabletop role-playing game that's easily described as "Oregon Trail meets Lord of the Rings." Playing Dungeon World is a lot like playing Dungeons and Dragons in that it uses a traditional fantasy setting populated with medieval tropes and takes place using a familiar D20 system of rules, but it's also very different. It encourages more creativity: The traditional roles used in most fantasy settings are absent, and you can easily play something other than an elf!
