This sensor is designed for use on all indoor supply air ducts.  It measures the enthalpy of airflow and can be used to measure the outside air, make inside-outside temperature corrections and set the schedule damper position for winter setback applications.

The S-Bus Enthalpy sensor continuously displays the relative humidity in a remote location (such as an attic) where it can't be directly monitored. The sensor is installed in an unobstructed duct, usually in a supply air plenum or return air grille. A wireless transmitter sends the relative humidity information to a receiver that can be conveniently mounted near the HVAC controller or other control equipment.

An enthalpy sensor measures the temperature and humidity in a duct or room. Its output signal is proportional to the enthalpy, that is, the total heat content of a substance. The sensor has built-in compensators for temperature and humidity, so it can be used with air at any temperature and humidity, dry or wet. Its resistance or its capacitance does not depend on pressure, unlike thermistors or thermocouples.
