FLAME RETAINER

It is a flame retainer for Carrier furnace models CAW and CAC.

The durable, curved flame arrestor is designed to fit in your furnace without having to remove any existing solid sheet metal from your furnace walls or burners. This helps preventing dangerous flames and soot from escaping between flue pipes, providing the peace of mind that your family is safe, and the assurance that your warranty will hold up.

The 50HJ500451 Flame Retainer easily snaps into place to capture any fuel that has leaked from your furnace. This convenient Flame Retainer is easy to install, so you can fix the problem and heat your home as soon as possible. Also known as a flame spreader, this product can be used on Carrier furnaces with a minimum BTU rating of 46,000 and manufactured prior to 2009.

The flame retainer will contain flaming gases if the burners flare up.

This 8 inch replacement flame retainer fits 2 inch furnace filters with a nominal size of 25 X 25 inches.

The Carrier flame retainer is an electro-plated, bronze part. It holds the flame tube onto the gas valve and springs the pilot flame within the flame tube towards the burner assembly.

The flame retainer captures the flame if your gas valve requires a warm up period. It is designed to combine with other burner parts, so you will not need to order multiple parts.
