The Carrier P201-4701 transformer is used for Furnaces with a Pri 24V and three Phase 208, 240, 480 Volt. The transformer has a capacity of 75VA at 120/208/240 Volts or a 480 Volt capacity of 150VA.

This Transformer is an OEM replacement for furnace applications using ac single phase power. This transformer is used as the line voltage regulator and provides 120vac output at 42va. The input voltage range is 208/240/480vac Pri 24 and the output voltage range is 120vac rated at 4.5 amps. The dimensions are 4 by 8 by 10 inches.

The Carrier P201-4701 is a replacement transformer for use with Nighthawk furnaces in the Carrier Infinity furnace line. It automatically changes the voltage from 120 to 208/240/480 volts during startup and provides 24 volt power through the sinewave contactor during furnace operation. Afterburner interlock relay switching and Start-up time delay relay are also included on this model.

This carrier low voltage transformer functions to change the voltage of the current from the utility service to that required by carrier and other manufacturers central AC systems. It handles both single phase (120/208/240 volts) and three phase (120/208/240/480 volt) systems.

This transformer is compatible with the P201 Furnace. If you see a transformer with a larger wire diameter than what is listed on your old transformer, then it will not be the same size as that of your current one. They are often smaller by a bit, and this does not matter since they are able to handle the same amount of amps as long as the voltage remains the same. The smaller transformers can handle many more amps, but they will always vary in size accordingly, so this does not really matter either.
