Potential Relay Kit
The Copeland 940-0001-49 Potential Relay kit consists of an air relay, wiring harness and capacitors, necessary to connect a variable speed drive to the Potential field.
The Potential Relay Kit for Copeland refrigeration equipment includes a mechanical-assist temperature control featuring a patented design that offers improved performance, efficiency and cost savings. It is offered with or without a spacer plate to allow replacement of existing temperature controls. This kit provides the ability to manually change defrost statuses to Arrangement 3 and includes instructions, wiring diagram and an instantaneous defrost switch (REX0A229). The Copeland Potential Relay Kit includes: tube clamp, relays, and a wire connector. The relays have extended life over standard mechanical relays and they offer better electrical noise rejection. This 3 Position model uses B+ potential relays to monitor the 3 AC power supply lines (Phase A, Phase B, and neutral).
The Copeland 940-0001-49 Potential Relay Kit contains replacement items for your machine. When additional condenser fan motors are needed, potential relays protect the energy source from inadvertent or accidental startup of one motor when the other is energized, and provide overload protection for both motors.

Wrapped and packaged in a handy plastic case, the kit consists of pre-packaged single units (1/2 Pole and 1/4 Pole) for easy identification and installation.

The Potential products are used to protect compressor motors against failure from locked-rotor or run-away conditions, and to provide remote indication of compressor failure. This kit contains a three position, one combination switch potential relay with test switch, and (2) two-wire leads with connectors.
