Amarr's Carrier brand offers a full line of high-quality, value-priced home comfort products that are second to none. Countless innovations, superior product quality, and legendary after-sales service have been the pillars of our more than 150-year track record of cutting-edge product development and customer satisfaction.
A Carrier Company expansion valve is used to provide a constant volume of refrigerant to cool your home during periods of high heat. One end of the expansion valve is connected to the evaporator coil and the other end to either suction line or load. The expansion valve allows the recovery of a certain amount of high pressure gas when air conditioner demand is less than the total capacity. This prevents a vacuum from being formed in the system tubes, ensuring that the compressor cycles on more often and uses more power.
Expansion valves (EVs) are used in air-conditioning and refrigeration systems and help control the movement of refrigerant gases during system pressurization, heat recovery, or phase control. Most are designed to prevent an excessive pressure drop across a device and are suitable for use between 10 and 500 psi.
