OUTDOOR AIR SENSOR

The EWC Controls OAS (Outdoor Air Sensor) is designed to monitor the amount of air entering the home while providing a programmable response for each individual situation. This allows you to operate at the ideal comfort level in your home. The OAS operates on 24 Volts DC, and has an external sensor that measures supply air temperature as well as a self-calibrating range extender to improve its accuracy.

One of the best kept secrets in residential HVAC is an OAS (outdoor air sensor). When you're in a home that doesn't have one, you don't know what you're missing. EWC Controls' OAS sensor automatically adjusts the return air grille to supply high quality fresh air while maintaining a target indoor humidity level.

The optional EWC Controls™ OAS is an intelligent Outdoor Air Sensor that allows the user to operate the outdoor air ventilation in stages during a pre-programmed time period. The OAS senses when outdoor air ventilation is required and then activates the heating or cooling system to ensure that the correct amount of fresh air has been provided before returning to your pre-set temperature and humidity levels.

The outside air sensor (OAS) is used to determine when to open and close the oven damper and has six programmable positions for different applications. It is normally set for summer conditions, with the OAS positioned so that during the cooling portion of the operating cycle, warm air from the oven will be exhausted through the outside air damper. It is not necessary to hold the lever on the timer in position as long as your mechanical system requires. There will be no adverse effects if it is removed.

The EWC OAS (outside air sensor) is used most often to control return grills and zone valves. This digital, pneumatic (air), occupancy-sensing control delivers precise temperature control for better comfort and energy efficiency.
