Duke F10180 Flame Arrestor Kit by Prtst *** Flame Arrestor
Flame Arrestor fitting into the I/P of F10180 stove. Flame arrestor, or thermal resistant screen, helps to reduce the risk of chimney fires by reducing exhaust gases. It also reduces soot and ash deposition in the exhaust. The flame arrestor divides the airflow into two parts: one for heating and the other for creating a combustion blower to vent any flue gases. Considerable amount of air is lost through cracks in the flue pipe and soot & debris-
Duke Flame Arrestor Kits are designed for use with properly vented home heating appliances & boilers. The F10180 Pipe Thread is 3/8" x 18 NPSH (3/4" NPT). The Flame Arrestor (Ptfe) removes over 1% of the combustion air flowing through the system .
The Flame Arrestor can be used in conjunction with standard chimney flue pipe to reduce the risk of exposure to carbon monoxide (CO) gas which could be caused by back draft (up-draft) when the flue is not installed or properly installed; and for increased safety when using charcoal, propane or natural gas fired appliances indoors. It is suitable for installations where the appliance is less than 10’ from combustible construction and there are other restrictions to the use of a full vent
Flame Arrestor is a term used in combustion process engineering that represents a device that interrupts the spread of fire by removing heat in the form of hot gasses. It should be also noted that flame arrestors are not intended to extinguish a flame, but rather to eliminate its heat-causing potential. Heat may be removed from the unwanted zone by convection, conduction, or radiation. Flame arrestors are classified as either fixed or variable depending on their position during an operational sequence. Most common
