The Carrier Model 298756 OEM Limit Switch is an automatic limit switch designed for Carrier's N5X-07AB-18E air conditioning furnace. This limit switch installs in the return duct and senses when the heat exchanger discharge temperature reaches 155 degrees F. When this happens, the limit switch turns on the blower motor and burner to bring the system up to set point if it is below set point, or to maintain set point if it is at or above set point. This model was used on Carrier brand furnaces manufactured from 1993-1997.

The Carrier limit switch is not designed, nor intended for use on all 24 Volt Cooling Only systems. On a system with 2 stages this limit switch will cycle the second stage 3 to 5 times per minute. Please check and verify if you have a cooling only system.
