The InSinkErator SMG-00 Standard Mounting Gasket is designed to fit the Insinkerator Evolution Series disposers. It is constructed from rubber and provides a tight seal and prevents leakage of food particles. This gasket can also help prevent odors from leaking out into your kitchen.
The In-Sink-Erator Mounting Gasket (SMG-00) has been designed to work with the In-Sinkerator line of disposers. The SMG is used to mount the disposer to your sink or a counter mounted bracket. The disposer should be fastened to the sink flange with 4 screws, 2 on each side. The gasket is then placed between the holes in the sink flange and the disposer.
Your InSinkErator disposer has a removable mounting gasket that aids the InSinkErator in creating a secure connection to your sink flange. That gasket is designed to make the connections watertight, so if it should wear out or become damaged over time, it will need to be replaced.
