The Intermatic DTAV40 Defrost Timer is an NEMA 3R rated defrost timer designed specifically for use with air conditioning systems. The DTAV40 is an electric defrost timer that can be set to turn on and off at specified times. To prevent frost buildup, the DTAV 40 will automatically turn off cooling power when frost forms on evaporator plates in cooling coils within an air conditioning system. In addition, the Intermatic DTAV40 Can Delay Time, Override Omit Time Or Initiate A Run Cycle At Desired Times.

Easily access and change settings inside an NEMA 3R outdoor enclosure using the ET8/A control and programming buttons on the cover. Our Defrost Timer automatically senses the ambient temperature and runs until the set defrost time is reached. Adjustable to run from 1 to 99 minutes, it can protect against both freezing and overheating with non-recurring programming options.

The Intermatic DTAV40 Defrost Timer is an economical, energy-saving replacement for mechanical contactor style defrost cycles. A 120/240V outdoor mechanical timer features easy to read, clearly marked dial and instructions. Pre-wired 8 ft. cord, terminals and mounting hardware are included. The DTAV defrost timer is a 120, 208 or 240 volt time initiated, time terminated or remote temperature or pressure terminated low voltage control device. The DTAV series provides actual temperature defrost control in refrigeration, air conditioning, enclosed rotor heating/cooling, and heat pump-heat/cool applications and meets the requirements of Article 555 of UL Standard for household and similar general use electrical equipment.

The Intermatic DT40 is a time initiated, time or remote temperature or pressure terminated NEMA 3R plastic weatherproof enclosure timer. Designed for mounting on the load side of motors and controllers, it features 6 pre-programmed manual time settings. Choose between instant operation and delayed-start start times from 3/4 hour to 13 hours. The DT40 offers an adjustable delay that can be set from 0 to 9 hours to provide additional protection against freezing and overheating conditions.

You can set this defrost timer to turn on your furnace fan, air conditioner or dehumidifier at any programmed time. This allows a defrost cycle to occur during off-peak energy hours and minimize the need for frost protection chemicals or defrost cycles during normal operating hours.
