PTC SILICON SENSOR W/ SHIELDED 6-1/2' SENSOR CABLE
JOHNSON CONTROLS PTC- SILICON SENSOR W/ SHIELDED 6-1/2' SENSOR CABLE
PTC Sensor W/ Shielded 6-1/2' Sensor Cable
The Johnson Controls 111853 PTC Silicon Sensor With Shielded 6-1/2' Sensor Cable is a sensor consisting of a thermocouple and fine wire coil. It transforms the energy in the metal to thermal and electrical energy and distributes it into the system. This sensor has an aluminized steel facing, rubber boot, and sheath, and a locking nut for mounting.
This PTC Silicon Sensor w/ Shielded Cable is a replacement part for the Air Command I, Air Command II and Air Command Mini. It senses temperature and sends a signal to a thermostat to control heating and cooling, as well as electric motors to control speed.
The PTC sensor is supplied with a 6-1/2 ft. shielded sensor cable and is intended for air handling systems, such as electric heaters and air conditioners. It also monitors refrigeration systems; the neutral wire must be bonded to a copper drain to function properly in a refrigeration system. This sensor can prevent ice damage in split systems, especially if a thermostat is not used.
Wireless temp control is easy to install. Place the 4-1/2' sensor inside your appliance or meat and place the PTC sensor on the side of your grill.
The PTC sensor detects current flow and removes power if current flow is interrupted. Dry-Type sensor element, sensing surface made of coated silicon, reverse polarity protection mounted on plastic housing with flush mount style mounting hole
The PTC element is an electrical switch. When there is current flow through the sensor wire, the silicon sensor will switch to on state. The on state requires the hub to apply power to the switch. However when there is no current flow through the sensor wire, the silicon sensor will switch to off state. The off state requires the hub to remove power from the switch. One end of this sealed silicon PTC will be wired to a digital input pin on a controller, while the other end will be wired to a relay or fan.
This is a genuine replacement for the PTC Sensor you removed from your unit. It is designed to be used with furnaces that are equipped with sensors, controls that are plugged into the sensor, or furnaces that are equipped with both controls and sensors.
This Thermostat is designed to extend your HVAC system's operating range even when conditions are hot. For use with gas electrical water heater, it is designed to help prevent freeze-ups and other damage that can occur when airflow to a unit is cut off. The thermostat features PTC silicon sensing technology that resists calibration drift and a sealed case design that provides a durable construction for a range of demanding applications.
The PTC-style sensor is a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) thermistor wired in series with an NTC thermistor to protect against over temperature. When the temperature exceeds the PTC's setpoint, the PTC resistance decreases and causes a proportional increase in current flow through the device. The combination of the negative temperature coefficient (NTC) and positive temperature coefficient (PTC) resistances limits off-normal conditions and reduces thermal runaway effects.
The sensor can be used in LATCH or 3-wire applications and is designed to provide temperature monitoring and may also be used in HVAC heating, ventilation, and air conditioning applications.
