The #5528-8 Heli-Coil Insert Repair Kit contains a series of inserts in the finest sizes ranging from 1/2" to 20". The maximum recommended torque range for these inserts is 5,000 to 6,000 lbs. The kit contains enough inserts to repair at least one serviceable thread in each major size up to 1/2" diameter. Each insert has a black finish, and is supplied preloaded into a hardened steel body.

The Helicoil 5528-8 0.5-20 inch fine thread repair kit is designed to restore threads in double ended studs, blind holes and any application requiring replaceable threaded inserts. It is recommended for use with steel as well as aluminum. The flutes are interlocked, have three sharp spiral points and are precision turned, hardened steel to provide an interference fit that will give maximum strength at the lowest cost. The preferred method of installation is with a tool that drills a hole between 2 and 3 times diameter of the Helicoil-A Helicoil repair kit should not be installed with a tap drive
