Coarsen (bottom) KIT 9/16-12 includes: three threaded inserts, three drive pins, one 3/8 inch extension mandrel, and an Allen wrench. The 5521-9 coarse thread repair kit is intended for making an external thread on a fastener that has a damaged thread that cannot be removed. This kit can be used in universal applications where the fastener being repaired is 9/16-12, has straight threads and is within a diameter range of 0.513 to 0.8550 inches (14.28 to 21.59 mm).

These Helicoil® self-centering extractors are specially designed and installed with a "heli coil" which is cemented over the the top of the hole in order to seal it from further wear and fatigue. It will utilize the strength of the steel around the fastener itself and not on threads that are stripped or damaged when torquing a bolt. The thread is then protected with an oil resistant coating to prevent rust, and overheating.
