It also holds the gas valve open long enough to prevent burner flare back. It is non-magnetic, which guarantees safe operation in control panels with magnetically operated contacts.

The TRIPLE AQUASTAT RELAY is used on Honeywell burners, model number 2247. The relay switches power off at a high or low limit switch and turns it back on. Used in heaters, burners and fans, this relay needs a 24VDC coil to operate. MAX RATING: 300 V / 5 Amp, @ 120 VAC

The Honeywell 2247 Triple Aquastat Relay is a 240 VAC, 3-position, 4-wire device. It is designed to operate electric baseboard heaters and reheat furnaces. The 2247 can be used as a three-zone controller by removing one of the contacts and supplying power through all three contacts. This provides electric baseboard heaters with high temperature protection for individual zones. The relay will switch on the main heater wire heating element to limit temperatures in zones 1
