The Ignitor Electrode 21L98 is an igniter used on gas heaters with 4 to 6 inch spark plugs. This brand new igniter from the Lennox company is designed to keep your furnace going for a long time. The electrode causes the combustion process to start inside the burner chamber, which will ignite the gas mixture. The electrodes are known as a sacrificial element, meaning they are meant to degrade over time. If you notice that your old electrode flames at all, you should replace it immediately because it is worn out and unable to ignite properly, which will end up costing you more initially in gas costs.
