The Flame Sensor is a safety device that monitors the US & Canadian gas supply line and shuts down your heating equipment if the flame is disrupted.

The Lennox 44L48 Flame Sensor detects excess gas and flame for up to six burners. This Flame Sensor is installed between the LP gas supply line and each burner manifold. When the sensor detects excess CO levels, it will automatically shut down the valve to that burner, preventing further consumption of LP gas, and eliminating further carbon monoxide emissions into your home.

Quick and easy to install, the flame sensor simply plugs directly into your gas control. It's perfect for new, replacement or multi-fuel systems to protect against the threat of carbon monoxide or fire.

The Lennox 44L48 Flame Sensor is used to provide automatic ignition of burner combustion air staged gas heaters. The flame sensor meets the needs of most HVAC contractors by incorporating an LED alerting system. When the flame sensor is activated, a RED LED will illuminate.

A flame sensor is an electronic device used for the regulation of gas fuel combustion. It acts as a safety device to automatically shut off a fuel supply to the appliance in the event of an unsafe operating condition or possible fire. The flame sensor accomplishes this by sensing the intensity of the flame or heat within the appliance, and then opening or closing a switching mechanism that interrupts the flow of gas.

The Lennox Flame Sensor is an important safety feature on all Lennox gas furnaces. The flame sensor, along with the furnace blower system, protects against possible carbon monoxide poisoning. Whenever the furnace blower is operating, it makes a connection between the flame sensor in the return air duct and the burner assembly. If the furnace blower stops for a reason other than a call for heat from the thermostat, an electrical circuit automatically opens. This shuts down operation of the burner until the furnace blower starts up again, thus preventing incomplete combustion and possible carbon monoxide poisoning. On many furnaces this feature is
