The Potential Relay shares most of the same features as the Preferred Relay, with the addition of our new Isolated Ground system. This is a more expensive component, but it enables us to rate the Potential Relay for use in hazardous locations.

The Lennox® Potential Relay detects and troubleshoots problems quickly without the need for field wiring. It offers convenience with LED indicators and push-button operation to pinpoint malfunctions, including high-water pressure, open or shorted heater, high indoor or outdoor pressure and more. It allows you to clear the alarm and rectify minor faults from a remote location to prevent the possibility of damage occurring to equipment due to over-pressuring the system.

The Lennox 45A00 Potential Relay is a C-Series relay that works for the following systems:

The 45A00 replaces the potential relay in various Lennox residential, commercial and light industrial Air Conditioners, Heat Pumps, and Commercial packaged units. The 45A00 has an integrated capacitor and is an easy 'Drop-In' replacement for the older potential relay. No wiring changes are necessary for installation with the 45A00 potential relay.

The Potential Relay is a sensor that detects dangerous changes in the potential across an L-Series blower motor. When the potential across the blower motor exceeds 60V (max) this circuit will open to remove power from the motor, protecting against possible damage due to high voltage or high frequency currents.
