Ignition Control Board

The Lennox Ignition Control Board is used for the following systems: V92-2, M9-IXS, M10-IXS, M14-IXS, M36/M36B1, MPC80U1, PB29A (AC11) and MPC98U1/2 (AC23). The part number is 56W19 and the manufacturer's model number is 9602.

The Ignition Control Board provides control when the furnace is in its Off cycle. The Ignition Control Board also provides a means for the furnace system to talk to the thermostat.

The 56W19 Ignition Control Board is designed for use with the following wall furnace models: Lennox® 56H1, FL #05105600; Lennox® 56N1, FL #05105602; and Lennox® 56W1, FL #05105604.

The 56W19 Ignition Control Board is to be used with Lennox high efficiency gas-fired furnaces. It operates the air coil, blower motor and ignition transformer. When installed together with an ignition transformer, the 56W19 Ignition Control Board also provides limited overload protection for the transformer.

The ignition control board is designed to meet the original equipment specifications of Lennox air conditioning and heating systems. This board can be used in a variety of residential and light commercial air conditioning and heating systems, but should not be used in units above 24,000 BTU's.

The ignition control board is a part of a furnace's safety system, and ensures the pilot light stays lit throughout operation. If the control module malfunctions, or fails to ignite the gas pilot, it could lead to carbon monoxide poisoning if the system runs without the pilot light on.
