DISCHARGE AIR SENSOR

The Discharge Air Sensor is designed for use in the Lennox G8 and PRX/COP Heat Recovery Systems. The Temperature Control Module monitors the discharge air conditions downstream of the heat recovery system to ensure compliance with ASHRAE Standard 55-98.

The discharge air sensor detects the presence of combustion products in the flue gases and automatically shuts off gas flow to keep the unit running safely and reliably.

The Lennox® Discharge Air Sensor (DAS) is designed to provide you with more information about your system's performance. The DAS tells you if there is air being discharged from the air handler. This may indicate a problem with the blower(s) or ductwork.

The Lennox 99K64 is the discharge air sensor. This sensor mounts in an outside wall and is designed to detect the flow of cool air across it. If there is a blockage, a re-circulating draft will occur at the top of your furnace where your vent stack can cause issues with moisture.

The Lennox brand 99K64 discharges more air from the air handler where it sits. The amount of air that gets discharged in the air handler directs how much resistance a furnace has when moving blower air to the vents. When put into action, your furnace will run faster and smoother because it would feel lighter or easier to have a full swing of air moving back and forth as opposed to only a portion of it. Your combustion motor will burn cleaner, thus saving fuel.

The Lennox 99K64-83 is a 4 inch Air Sensor and it is designed to replace the Lennox part number 8430074. This Air Sensor is a rough-in air sensor, which helps in collecting information that will help you maintain your furnace.
