The Defrost and Ambient Sensor Kit: The Defrost and Ambient Sensor Kit for Residential Rheem gas furnace models include part numbers DEFROST CONTROL SENSOR MCM# AP1375-230 and part number AMBIENT HUMIDITY SENSOR MCM# AP1375-090. This kit is designed to monitor the ambient temperature in the condensing area of your Rheem gas furnace, which determines the defrost function of the furnace.

The Rheem Defrost and Ambient Sensor Kit allows you to mount your existing furnace's defrost sensor on the outside air handler's supply plenum. It can also be used with a brand new air handler where changes in outdoor temperature and the outside plenum temperature may require opening or closing the defrost damper depending on ambient conditions.

This kit provides the tools needed to complete a repair by enabling customer to test the defrost control circuit as well as the ambient sensor. Indicates whether the defrost control and/or ambient sensor is functioning properly during freezer operation. Indicates function of defrost control circuit by illuminating green LED.

The Defrost Control Sensor is used to tell the defroster to turn on for the defrost cycle. It can be installed in the Defrost Sensor position or the Ambient Sensor position of many Rheem and Ruud gas and electric furnaces. Use this kit for hot gas application only !!!
