PURGE VALVE

The PURGE VALVE 11-0514-02 is designed to allow a quick and complete purge of the refrigerator or freezer coolant system. The purge valve completes the service cycle. It makes after-service purges simple and quick by simply installing the purge valve before removing the cleanout plug.

The PURGE VALVE is used to manually drain and flush the Scotsman Ice System.

A PURGE VALVE is available for units not equipped with drain valves. Blowing air through a PURGE VALVE will remove air from the group of the icemaker and prevent water hammer in the piping when the water supply valve is closed or if there is a power outage.

A PURGE VALVE will dispose of the water left in the condenser or evaporator after servicing. To properly do this, a heat exchanger must be isolated from the cooling system. This is done by opening one or more isolation valves and draining the cooling system through the PURGE VALVE.
