The Armstrong Air 280696 is a replacement sensor and electrode combination for use on indoor commercial, residential and industrial Armstrong Air brand central heating systems. The 280696 is a genuine Armstrong Air product designed for replacement of parts in popular Armstrong commercial and residential heating systems only.

This sensor and electrode are for use with Genesis IV gas furnace ranges, Affinity gas furnace models, and Affinity dual-fuel models. The electrode contains a platinum catalyst that helps operate the thermostat. It is important to replace the electrode every 2 to 3 years. The sensor senses the desired room temperature and sends the signal to the thermostat. It is important to replace this sensor every 5 years.

The Electromagnetic gas sensor is a separate component that is available for replacement in your equipment. Do not wait until it fails to check on the sensor status. Replace the sensor when you perform regular checks of other components. If this component has never been tested, replace it immediately and have it tested with an EPA test method. This component must be serviced and calibrated by a qualified professional.
