The ECM motor and its Direct Drive features an AC generator drive and a cooling fan that creates an optimum airflow across the motor, extends motor life, reduces operating temperature, improves efficiency, and reduces energy consumption. This RHEEM ECM direct drive lightweight coil is a single phase coil that is Three Legs Earthed.

ECM direct drive motor is designed to create reduced operating sound and ultra-low life cycle cost. The ECM motor does not have any external moving parts, including the electrical acceleration and run capacitors that are built into the motor, (no capacitor to wear out or breakdown). If there is a power failure or voltage outage, the motor will restart internally when power returns eliminating concerns about burn outs and other safety issues.
