The Rheem AP14317P Pilot Assembly NG Ruud is a newly manufactured genuine replacement part. It is the pilot assembly that comes with the spark. The NG means natural gas burners, same as LP (propane) burners.

This pilot assembly includes the tank and the shaft assembly of the gas valve. It is used with a Rheem, Ruud brand or equivalent single stage gas furnace to ignite the main burner when needed.

Please make sure that the wiring is in working order before installing a replacement pilot assembly.To determine if you need to replace your gas control, check the operation of the pilot assembly. If the pilot is bright red, with no flickering, and if it lights the main burner with one or two clicks, then it is functioning normally. (On electronic ignition systems, the pilot should be constantly lit. On circulator systems, there should be a constant flow of gas to the pilot.)
