The Flame Sensor in your home heating system can play an important role in keeping your system and family safe. In gas-fired systems, if flame is not detected behind the glass window of the sensor for more than 10 seconds, the system shuts down. It is important to have a flame sensor that does more than just detect a flame. Our flame sensors are designed to detect a broad range of flame temperatures as well as produce little or no interference with electronic devices like televisions and radios.

A flame sensor is designed to monitor a connection between a furnace and an air handler. This helps protect the air handler from a dangerous backdraft of flue gases. If the flow of flue gases becomes reversed and enters the air handler it could damage the unit. If your furnace or air handler is operating without a flame sensor, it is not as efficient, and dangerous carbon monoxide could be expelled into the living space."
