Rheem and Rheem- Rinnai power factor modules are designed only for use with Rheem or Rinnai heating, cooling and water heating equipment, and will not operate properly with other manufacturers' equipment. It is critical that the power factor module match the brand of equipment it is used with. The power factor module is covered by a 10 year warranty.

Rheem's advanced Power Factor Module (PFM) uses power more efficiently for greater energy efficiency and higher return on investment. PFM is designed with a high-voltage rectifier coupled with a low-loss, high-efficiency filter, allowing the electronic ballast to run on low voltages.

It is used to improve energy efficiency by providing better overall power performance by improving the power factor . The technology is simple, where current can be distributed in two different ways and is measured in an electrical system. The module monitors the current flow through the power grid, and when it detects an imbalance between active and reactive energy, it will send out a signal to distribute current via capacitors on the high-side conductor to help restore balance.

The Power Factor Module (PFM) is used with two stage gas water heaters to condition the incoming voltage, which may vary in accordance to the power line conditions. This helps to maintain a constant flow of water from thermostatic cartridges.

The Puesta del Sol Power Factor Module for use with the Rheem Tango Pool Controller allows the Tango System to measure the power factor of the pool's pump and loads. This component should only be used with the Rheem Tango system.
