INTEGRATED FURNACE CONTROL BOARD (IFC)

INTEGRATED FURNACE CONTROL BOARD (IFC) WAS EXCHANGED UNDER WARRANTY, SINCE THAT TIME THE UNIT HAS GONE INTO A FACTORY PROTECTION MODE, IT IS UNCLEAR FROM THE MANUAL WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE BOARD BUT IT SAYS THAT THE OUTPUT COIL AND PRESSURE SWITCH NEEDS TO BE TESTED. THEREFORE I BELIEVE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE PRESSURE SWITCH AND/OR OUTPUT COIL.

Rheem's Integrated Furnace Control (IFC) boards are designed to enhance their line of Integrated System Furnaces. Not only will an IFC board automatically control your furnace, but with the DIP switches, it allows you to set the time and day that you want your system to turn on and off. Additionally, the fan can be disabled and/or auto restart enabled by utilizing the DIP switches.

IFC replaces the need for a furnace control board and accepts all of the same operating codes to ensure compatibility with most existing systems. IFC also includes built-in diagnostics that will indicate a unit fault.

Rheem Integrated Furnace Controls (IFC) control the operation of a gas furnace in response to the thermostat's demands. The IFC is designed to accept a direct digital connection from the Rheem Intelli-Touch(TM) or any other compatible programmable thermostat, as well as an RS485 connection from any compatible outside source such as a temperature/humidity sensor, time clock module, etc.(Honeywell). In addition, one of the IFC's outputs is programmable to respond to an emergency shut off command from a compatible fire alarm panel.
