Belly Band Kit

The Belly Band Kit includes a belt, gasket and four screws. It was designed to help secure the blower housing assembly of a Ruud/Protech unit to the bottom of older (version 1) air handlers.

RHEEM 70-24104-82 /Protech - Belly Band Kit - /Ruud/Protech - A compressor cover intended for use with Rheem and Ruud single stage air conditioners. Helps keep unit clean and enclosed. White with black lettering.

Belly Band Kits consist of a brass fitting (1-3/8" x /2") and two hose clamps. Belly Band Kits are necessary for mounting the cooling coil to certain Rheem/Ruud air handlers with coils made after May 2001. The kit is used when installing the coil on an enclosure, wood or metal stud wall, or other surface by the installer.

The most widespread use of belly band kits is in residential air conditioning. The kit makes it possible to utilize a high-pressure (HP) metal fin coil in an area with a low ceiling that would otherwise prevent the use of standard "in line" air conditioning coils.
