Ignitor Electrode

The Ignitor Electrode is an ignition component that goes inside the gas valve. It works with the current generated from the gas valve thermopile to activate the spark generator in the ignition module, creating a spark that will ignite natural gas or liquid propane. The electrode is secured in place with a retainer clip so it does not move within the valve cavity when assembled.

This product is a genuine Ignitor Electrode for all Ruud gas/oil filled systems including: 120-30-501, 120-30-501SQ, 120-30-502, 120-30-502SQ, 120-30-502SSQ.

Ignitor Electrodes fit most brands of gas or oil fired boilers, heaters, furnaces, water heaters and pool heaters. Use Rheem part numbers RTE3 for oil fired units and RTG3 for gas fired units. They are used on Ruud, Lopi, Nefco, Intertherm Boilers & Heaters. Ignitors allow the gas or fuel supply to be turned on before combustion air is provided to a boiler and barometric switch to initiate ignition when the proper combustion air is available.
