Install the TXV expansion valve kit and enjoy the comfort of a new high-efficiency Rheem water heater. The kit utilizes Rheem's patented factory sealed refillable orifice for maximum efficiency while allowing you to safely control the temperature and pressure of the water. This expansion valve is not for use as a gas valve, which should be done by a licensed plumber. To be used with all Ruud models manufactured after 1994. If you would prefer to have a Rheem technician perform this installation, there is a $35 parts fee plus labor fee.

Expansion Valve Kits are used with the Ruud HXU/HXX series cooling units 29-454, 30-458 & 31-464 to control evaporation. Comes complete with an expansion valve and mounting hardware.
