The Rheem SP11309C -Ruud .7x44.375 Magnesium Anode Rod is a replacement anode rod for the SP-111N and SP-100N miniature gas storage tank products. This anode rod, which can be used with most types of gas storage tanks, will help ensure longer life and improved corrosion protection.

The Magnesium Anode Rod measures approximately 44 1/4" long x 0.375" ID and weighs approximately 1 lb. This product is designed for use with natural gas water heaters manufactured by Ruud.

A Magnesium Anode Rod is a simple and easy way to protect your hot water heater from harmful corrosion. It is the anode rod's job to sacrifice itself to protect the hot water heater. This sacrificial rod should be replaced every 3-5 years, depending on well water conditions, pH balance, usage, and the water heater. The use of a Magnesium Anode Rod will prolong the life of your water heater and keep it more efficient.

The Magnesium Anode Rods are designed to protect the water heater and attached piping from corrosion.

The Magnesium Anode Rod is designed to nullify corrosion (rust) in water heaters that utilize steel anode rods. The Magnesium rod works best in high pH water (above 8.5). It does not work for those using soft or well water so if you have issues with rust, the magnesium rod might be the perfect fit for you.

The magnesium anode is designed to control hard water problems and prevent the formation of white calcium deposits on heat exchange surfaces and water pipes. Interchangeable with steel anodes, Magnesium Hardness increases over time at high flow rates.
