The limit is set by a fixed set screw and magnetic release switch that trips a spring-loaded drive plunger against an adjustable stop. This arrangement prevents damage to the machine while achieving a reliable trip at preset overload conditions, even after long periods of nonuse. Limit Switches are designed to detect the presence of a magnet, either attracted or repelled.

The automatic reset occurs within 10 seconds of removal of the last input signal; any change in the direction of the input signal will override the set position to allow immediate operation.
