The supply temperature sensor (YORK par. no. 031-09129) is used to detect whether the inside of the duct associated with the sensor is warm or cool for purposes of deriving supply air temperature in multi-stage heating/cooling systems. The sensor typically consists of a rigid metal cap with a hinged, metering lid at one end, and a brass strain gage attached to the lid by epoxy. The strain gage supplies an analog voltage proportional to the differential pressure at the strain gage caused by air flow through the heat exchanger. The Supply Air Temperature Sensor can be used with a York Gas Furnace. The sensor accurately measures the temperature in the air going to the blower.

Once installed, the sensor will activate a compressor failure alarm and display the highest temperature it has measured during the selected time period.
