The Aluminum FID 3/8 by Samson Rope is made out of sturdy aluminum.

The Samson FID (both ends) 3/8" is a solid aluminum double ended fid. This Samson fid is made with bright orange strands, which helps you find it easily. Aluminum fids are lightweight, yet strong they also provide greater heat resistance than traditional bamboo fids. Samson fids are available in 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" diameters.
