This is a long tapered punch with a sharp point for piercing holes in multiple layers of leather or webbing and for making grommets.

In the 1950's, the Old Forge plant was located on the banks of the Susquehanna River in Old Forge NY and provided quality hand tools to a world hungry for progress.  The company's president, Joseph Peck, had a vision of producing tools that would live up to the growing demand for excellence.  In 1954 Peck introduced six new products that quickly became standards in their industry. These standards are still being produced today and have become known as Old Forge Quality Tools.

Long taper punch has a smooth cutting action for 4 to 12 gauge mild steel. Use to drill holes for rivets in 3/16" (4.76mm) thick material. Removes an .093" (2.36mm) diameter hole. Punches are hardened and tempered for durability. Each punch is ground to tolerances with a 32° included angle and radiused corners to minimize burrs after punching.
