Pilot Ignitor Sensor
Armed with solid features and reliable performance, the Pilot Ignitor Sensor is made for your comfort. This unit has a low gas shut-off switch, so you'll never have to worry about running out of fuel. If your pilot light goes out, this unit will automatically relight it when you turn on the thermostat. And with a programmable electronic ignition system, lighting your furnace will be faster than ever before.
Pilot Ignitor Sensor
The Pilot Ignitor Sensor Module regulates the output of the primary burner. It senses whether or not the flame is present, and it will adjust the gas valve to ensure a proper amount of gas is flowing in the secondary burner.
The Pilot Ignitor Sensor (PIS)- Rheem's most popular product is used to determine if gas burners are functioning and have a good electrical connection. It can also be used for testing diagnostics or troubleshooting purposes.
The Ignitor Sensor is a wire that contains the pilot flame sensing element. The sensor is a safety procedure used to ensure that gas never flows to the burners. This wire will work with most gas logs and grills with electronic ignition systems.
The SP12596B Sensor is installed between the Ignitor and Ignitor Box assembly on the gas furnace. The pilot ignitor in this sensor uses three terminal screws to secure it in the sensor. Two ground wires attach to a mounting bracket which supports the ignitor body. The ignitor itself is on a pivot bushing so the burn tip can be positioned correctly inside the pilot orifice.
The pilot ignitor is a safety device that is used to ensure that your Rheem water heater will not unexpectedly ignite. By installing it, you can ensure your safety and lower your chance of injury.
