Gas Control (Thermostat) - LP

The Rheem Gas Control (Thermostat) is designed to control the gas burner on a Rheem LP Forced Air Furnace or Central Air Conditioner. The unit is mounted at the gas vent, and should be mounted vertically, with the gas supply port facing up.

This item is a gas control (thermostat) for Rheem "High Efficiency" series furnace/AC units.

The Gas Control thermostat controls the gas burner flame. It will not control the electric igniter. These are used on gas heaters and boilers to control the temperature at which the gas burner operates.

The 272633 Gas Control, LP is a replacement gas control for the GRA-36 and GAS-36GMA, manufactured by Rheem. (RVH)

The RHEEM GAS-CONTROL (THERMOSTAT) uses resistance to control burner flame. The variable-resistance element is mounted on a metal plate with four spring-type contacts. The variable-resistance element and contacts come in contact with the gas line. The low voltage terminal on the thermostat connects to the stator on which the rheostat is mounted.
