Econostat is a two-wire mercury thermostat that operates on 24 volts AC and control 24 volt direct vent gas log heaters up to 15,000 BTU's. The gas valve unit must be purchased separately.

The Econostat is equipped with a mercury switch to provide instant-on/off control of 24-volt heating systems, such as baseboard heaters. It is also compatible with 24-volt ventilation fans to control airflow or light operation.

This thermostat is designed for use with 24V split systems. It will not control the ceiling fan or the light, only the heating and cooling. The switches are normally open meaning that they are on when they are in the off position and off when they are in the on position.
