The new THERMAL CUTOUT switch for Amana Refrigerator Modular Models B23VT3, B27VT2, B30XT3, B30XT5 & B40XT4 (B5795315) is a direct replacement for the original thermal cutout. Use of this part will help prevent refrigerators from overheating. The thermal cutoff is located on the evaporator assembly under the refrigerator compartment and detects excessive heat by monitoring the temperature. If it senses an excessive temperature it shuts off compressor operation.
