This Thermocouple is made of an alloy of 70 percent nickel and 30 percent chromium. It has a sheath that is made of an alloy of 96 percent copper and 4 percent nickel. The uninsulated lead wires are plated with 50 microinches of gold or palladium over one mil (.001 inch) of fine silver to help prevent corrosion of the wires.
